EÜS ciemojas Austrumā
27.02.2012

Austruma telpās, 21.februārī, viesojās mūsu draugi no EUS.

In the prehistoric times
the powrful bearded men
inhabitated these lands.
They smellted iron,
forged weapons,
they were hot in the battles,
famous even in the Rome,
they were strong and stubborn.

They were the people from the mists.
From lowlands and marshes
outmelted below the ice.

Their long loved freedom was lost,
when the ironmen came in.
They stabbed their chests and mind
with holy iron cross.

Only Once the fiery passion
bursted out again.
The passion that burnt
the incomers, their houses were lit.

Still, all remained the same.
For half a thousand of years,
we were undeutsch, as you.
The non-saxons, anonymous workforce,
low as the animals, tamed as a wild horse.

The times were meant to change.
Char from the East ordered to release those
who had served,
those who were bound.
And they were freed,
they were untied.
It was in 1816 for you, remeber? For us it was in 1819.

Some of us found their way into Academia Gustaviana,
some into Academia Moscovensis.
Few of them remained true.
Few of those remained the brothers who forged the unity,
who bloughed the seeds of our nations.
They were those who formed the core of Austrums,
they were those who formed the EÜS.

Their children were those who defended the right
to live and decide on it“s own.
Their women were those who sowed the flags.
Like your Balodis was our Laidoner the one
who bravely leaded the forces
who bravely fought for the life of nation.

Suddenly freedom so true, so pure
turned to disaster.
Men in arms seized our lands,
from the East flowed the Red flow,
as before, they wished to bring the Liberty.
This time - the liberty from possessions,
the liberty from wives,
the liberty from land,
the liberty from lives.
We wanted these burdens back.

These people who walked trough the night of slavery,
who walked their own to loose once again,
stood as a wall from north to south.
They started their battle once again.
Their weopons were words,
their battles were songs,
their speeches were bullets.
Our mentality formed our readiness and quided the hand.
Without blood we payed,
without bloodshed we remained.

In this very day, lets remember the road to here.
We have stood together, let us stand some more.
We have suffered to celebrate,
we have wept to rejoice.
Out friends, lets remember this day!
